We can say that the 20th century has been characterised by advances in logistics technology. There has been a radical change and with it the improvement of supply chains. But the question is: Where is technology in logistics going?

New technologies were developed and implemented that did not exist before: sensors, QR codes, just in time, traceability systems, route and fleet management.

Thanks to advances in logistics technology, the supply chain has gradually become more sophisticated. And now the question is; what has happened within the maritime logistics sector? What changes have there been or will there be?

Artificial intelligence and maritime transport

Smart shipping containers have recently arrived in this specific sector. They are designed to record everything that happens during the container's journey, from its origin to its destination.

And what does this allow? It allows transport managers to know what challenges a container will face throughout the journey, what the water and air quality will be like.

What do they want to achieve? To design containers to withstand these conditions and to be able to take even greater care of the goods they carry.

You may be wondering if SILVERSEA containers have intelligent containers. And the answer is; not at the moment... But we do have certain technological advances already implemented.

Find out which ones.

SILVERSEA Containers and technology in logistics

At SILVERSEA Containers we pay close attention to technological developments and strive to keep up with the world.

In 2018, we installed our first CRM system with the aim of automating processes, reducing human errors and increasing the productivity of our team. We chose SALESFORCES, one of the most powerful CRMs in the world and considered the number one since 2012, as we considered it to be the system best suited to our needs.

We started by automating sales processes, assigning a salesperson to each of our customers. The system allows us to identify at what stage the sale is in order to follow it up in the best possible way, providing the best customer service.

What do we achieve? Fewer errors, more personalised service and consequently happier customers.

We continue our digitalisation process by adding an automatic quotation system to our website and linking it to our CRM system. Our quotation system provides immediate solutions to the demands of our customers and automatically redirects them to a sales representative according to their region. Easy, fast and personalised.

Once again, fewer errors and happier customers. You can try our tool here: silverseacontainers.com silverseacontainers.com

Anything else? Of course there is. Read more

In 2021, we decided it was time to take our next step. We automated the delivery of our Ocean Containers by adding a logistics section to our CRM.

The entire workflow happens through there. What do we achieve? Identifying all the bottlenecks in our delivery process, reducing unforeseen events and avoiding delays. Once again, a 360-degree view of the customer. Incorporating this CRM allows us to take better care of and manage our relationships with our customers.

In the end, that's all we want. We will continue to digitise and add technology to increase your satisfaction.
